Sun Life Philippines continues tradition of being a Trusted Brand among Filipinos

Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. once again bags the Platinum Award in the Life Insurance category of the recently concluded Trusted Brand Awards organized by Reader’s Digest.

The Platinum Award is considered the highest honor in the Trusted Brand Awards, as there is only one sole winner bestowed with such honor. The recognition is wholly based on consumer voting, where over 8,000 individuals in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan rate 50 categories of products and services according to their trustworthiness, credibility, quality, value, innovation, social responsibility, and understanding of customer needs.

2nd Philippine LEAF Awards: Call for Nominatons Extended

The recently concluded press conference held last December 2, 2023, announced the significant updates for the upcoming "LEAF Tertulia at Parangal 2024." The press conference, which took place at the Manila Clock Tower Museum in Manila, was a prelude to the much-anticipated 2nd edition of the Philippine LEAF Awards.

"The LEAF Tertulia at Parangal 2024 is not just any ordinary awards ceremony. It will celebrate the best in Philippine Culture and the Arts -- Past, Present, Future. True Filipino Artists will be an integral part of this grand event," emphasized LEAF Founder and Head Juror for Music, Frank G. Rivera. Rivera shared the stage with current LEAF President, esteemed TV and live events director, CJ Andaluz, who also serves as the Creative and Managing Director of Pixel Art Media Production Company.

Rex Education takes home awards at 21st Manuel L. Quezon Gawad Parangal, 45th Catholic Mass Media Awards

Rex Education was recently recognized at the 21st Manuel L. Quezon Gawad Parangal and the 45th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA).

The Quezon Gawad Parangal is held annually in October as part of the local government’s celebration of the city’s founding. The 2023 awards ceremony recognized individuals and institutions who were exemplary in the fields of social work, environment and sanitation, law and justice, business and entrepreneurship, and science and technology.

SM Supermalls' Lady Security Guard Gilren Bajado honored for exemplary act


Gilren Bajado, lady security guard of RJC Security Solutions, was recognized as the Outstanding Security Guard of the Year at the 43rd Founding Anniversary of the Civil Security Group at Camp Crame. The recognition ceremony was presided over by PNP Chief PGen Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. SM Supermalls Customer Relations Services Senior Assistant Vice President Mr. Almus J. Alabe and Regional CRS Manager Harold James E. Herrera were also in attendance to witness the awarding ceremony.

Malacaรฑang confers 8 new National Artists for 2022

Malacaรฑang Palace declared eight ( 8 ) new National Artists for 2022, namely Agnes Locsin for Dance, Salvacion Lim-Higgins for Design (Fashion), Nora Villamayor a.k.a Nora Aunor, Ricardo “Ricky” Lee and Marilou Diaz-Abaya for Film and Broadcast Arts, Gemino Abad for Literature, Fides Cuyugan-Asensio for Music, and Antonio “Tony” Mabesa for Theater.

On June 10, 2022, Malacanang Palace, upon joint recommendation of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), officially announced the eight ( 8 ) new National Artists by virtue of Proclamation no. 1390.

The Order of National Artist, established under Proclamation no. 1001 signed in 1972, is the highest national recognition conferred upon Filipinos who have made distinct contributions to the development of the Philippine arts and culture.

57th Baeksang Arts Awards: Full List of Nominees


The 57th Baeksang Arts Awards (also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards) has just announced its nominees for the Television and Film categories on April 12.  The award is instituted by Ilgan Sports and JTBC Plus, affiliates of the JoongAng Ilbo.

Chang Key-young, the founder of Hankook Ilbo newspaper, introduced the award in 1965. It was presented using his pen name, 'Baeksang.' It is considered to be one of the prestigious awards in Korea.

46th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2020): Full List of Winners

The 46th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal was held last December 27 (Sunday). The awards night was done online hosted by actor Marco Gumabao and Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa.

Cleaners by Glenn Barit came through with flying colors at the virtual #PPP4SamaAll Awards Night of the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

 

Cleaners bagged six awards out of 10 nominations: Best Picture, Best Director for Barit, Best Supporting Actress for Gianne Rivera, Special Citation for Ensemble Performance for Leomar Baloran, Julian Narag, and Carlo Mejia, Best Production Design for Alvin Francisco, and Best Musical Score for Barit.

56th Baeksang Arts Awards: Full List of Winners

The international well-acclaimed hit Parasite won the Grand Prize for Film and the KBS2 drama When the Camellia Blooms won the Grand Prize for Television at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards held at the KINTEX Hall in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province on June 5, 2020.

For the first time, the ceremony was held without an audience due to the regulations against the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was hosted for the third time by Shin Dong Yup, Suzy, and Park Bo Gum.
