October is Museums and Galleries Month

The Museums and Galleries Month is celebrated every October based on Proclamation No. 798 s.1991 signed by the late former President Corazon Aquino to arouse the national consciousness and pride in the Philippines’ rich culture and national identity, embracing all forms of art and culture, historical and religious artifacts. 

Amazing things to see and visit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Located between the Gros Ventre Range and the Teton mountain range in the Wyoming lays the valley named Jackson Hole, situated near the Idaho border. The place was named after David Edward ‘Davey’ Jackson in 1914 as Jackson. Later it got its surname ‘hole’ by early mountain men who after entering the valley had to drop by steep slopes which seemed to be entering into a hole and thus the name. It has the busiest and largest commercial airport in Wyoming making it obvious that there are a large number of tourists visiting the place.

FDCP offices move to downtown Manila on T.M. Kalaw Street

The offices of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) have moved to a new location (the former premises of Instituto Cervantes de Manila) on TM Kalaw Street, Ermita, Manila. The National Film Archives of the Philippines (NFAP) will also have offices in the new building.

The Ortigas Foundation Library holds an Art Appreciation Talk by John Silva about Wenceslao E. Retana (1862-1924), a Filipiniana Bibliographer. This will be held on May 17, 2014, 3pm at Ayala Museum located at Makati Avenue corner Dela Rosa St., Makati City.

This is in conjunction with the exhibit: Beyond Tobacco Tabacalera: A bridge Between the Philippines and Spain.
