CITIZEN JAKE is finally screening in Philippine cinemas nationwide beginning May 23, 2018. This was confirmed by director Mike de Leon himself after several meetings with Solar Pictures in the past few weeks.

The TNF 100 preparation

The toughest trail run headed off to the highest city in the country for its third year! After Batangas and Sacobia, The North Face, having stayed true to its mission and dedication to getting the global adventurer to push to the extreme, pushes the Filipino outdoors-person to never stop exploring the Baguio-Benguet area. The TNF 100 presscon was held at R.O.X in Bonifacio High Street, The Fort, Taguig City on April 15, 2010.

In the Philippines, The North Face 100 Ultra Marathon Trail-Running Series continues to promote the true spirit of exploration in 2009. Set in the Asia Pacific, the series is a first of its kind in the region.

Running in thin air and high altitude pose as challenges even to the strongest athletes if they are more accustomed to living and training in the lowlands, hence bringing this year's The North Face 100 up to 5000-ft above sea level in Baguio City.

Following its successful 2008 debut in Batangas and the toughness of its 2009 leg at Sacobia, The North Face 100 has invited all runners to break their barriers and transcend far beyond their limits in the most anticipated off-road 100km run on April 24-25, 2010. A flurry of asphalt, dirt road, single track, and steep climbs and descents await the brave and the bold in the best thrill a trail has to offer.

The North Face 100 is one of the world’s premiere trail running ultra marathons.  This year’s TNF Thrill of the Trail, held at Nuvali in Laguna last February 2010 challenged the bravest runners to defy the terrain's unpredictable obstacles, taking adventure to new heights and push further the extent of human endurance.

Over Php300K in cash and products (across all categories: 11k, 22k, 50k solo, 100k solo) plus trophies, medals and certificates were awarded to the fastest finishers. Those running the 50k and 100k started running on April 24 at Burnham Park, while those who belonged to 11k and 22k ran on April 25 starting at Camp John Hay. According to ultramarathoner and Course Director Neville Manaois, the course was not without rolling hills, dirt tracks, and breathtaking views. So runners dared to be brave, stretched their limits, and never stopped exploring.

This May 10 we would have two “firsts”: The first nationwide automated elections, and the first social media coverage to be mounted by citizens.

Krispy Kreme's "Vote 2010: DOugh YOUR PART" campaign

As the election date is approaching, a lot of people is not yet decided on who to vote. The streets are filled with campaign posters and commercials of candidates have invaded the television channels day by day. I already have my own choice months ahead and have based my decisions on all the forums and debates I constantly followed on TV.  It is our responsibility to do our own research because it is our right to ask and to know the truth. Since the national campaign period started, the limelight has been on who to vote come May 10. But what about how to actually vote?

We don't choose someone who is  just popular, or the choice of the majority, or because we only know of a few things about the candidate. We choose a leader who is honest, sincere, optimistic, God-fearing, hardworking, an experienced leader and full of integrity.

For the first time in the country, an automated voting system will be used by registered voters for the upcoming elections. A mock election conducted by COMELEC showed that some voters do not know where and how to cast their ballots. Efforts from various sectors like on-air commercials are being made to be able to reach out to the voters in introducing it—and Krispy Kreme is one of them.

The well-loved family brand is out to their own campaign called “Vote 2010: Dough Your Part” and in doing so have devised their own way to help spread awareness. This advocacy campaign was launched on April 29, 2010 at Krispy Kreme branch in Bonifacio High Street, The Fort, Taguig City.  This event was hosted by RJ Ledesma, editor-in-chief of UNO Magazine. TV5 introduces firebrand journalism in NEWS5

TV5 introduces the biggest component of its programming expansion as it launches News5, the network's News and Public Affairs programming block composed of nine programs aimed at bringing news reporting to a whole new level with its mark of militancy for change and action starting April.

Headed by veteran broadcast journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes, News5 is focused to be at the forefront of news delivery, as well as in practicing "firebrand journalism" marked by its aggressive style, zeal, and depth of investigative news reporting. News5 promises to initiate problem-solving actions on the issues and matters at hand--keeping true to its slogan "Higit sa Balita, Aksyon!"
