Film Review: LIGAW (2015) written & directed by Paolo Endrinal Tesico

Ligaw (2015) is a story of Criselle delos Reyes (Melissa Ricks) who deals with her harrowing relationship experience with the devil, thinking that she could get everything she wanted (not necessarily material things) but to plant evil and do harm to others. Criselle thought that with the devil beside her, power and authority are hers to enjoy. It's actually a misconception that some people take to believe - that the devil can offer them everything they can wish for and imagine, not knowing the danger and consequence of that decision of offering their body and soul to the devil. It's a trap!

The Papal Contenders for 2013 after Pope Benedict XVI

After Pope Benedict XVI resigned from his post, names of the cardinals are now being weighed for their chance of candidacy. The possible candidates must be "papabile," or translated from the Italian, "pope-able." In Tagalog, we can perhaps use loosely the term, "papable" (whose word reference is "papa" to mean "pope" or in Tagalog slang, "male with so much charisma; handsome."

According to John Allen, CNN analyst and correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter, the following is a list of "papabile" or "papable" cardinals.

De La Salle University launches its centennial coffee table book, "The Future Begins Here"

De La Salle University celebrates an important milestone of its 100-year history with the coffee table book, The Future Begins Here. It was purposely conceptualized not to be a traditional history book, but a reference that would best express the spirit of the University – keeping pace with the changing times while being true to the original ideals of its Founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle.

In the book, the inspiring and heart warming story of the De La Salle schools is carried out in many ways. The approach is thematic rather than chronological. The story is related through the story of the Christian (La Salle) Brothers who have selflessly given of themselves in the name of education.

DLSU restages "A Fire in the Soul: A Cantata" (Feb 26-27, 2012)

A Fire in the Soul: A Cantata tells the story of a crucial event in the history of the Lasallian mission in Southeast Asia. On February 12, 1945, as American forces bombarded the City of Manila, a group of Japanese soldiers entered the De La Salle College campus on Taft Avenue and attacked the people who were living there. Twenty-four men, women, and children, and 16 La Salle brothers died in the massacre.

War turns human beings into monsters. It also forges heroes out of its flames. We tell this story to honor their memory, their service to humanity, and to remember them eternally.
