Top-grosser Chinese film "Never Say Die" showing in the Philippines on February 28

 

Chinese films were considered crowd favorites in the foreign film entertainment scene especially with themes leaning toward romcom, action and supernatural even before KPOP domination here in the Philippines. Filipino audience looked forward to watching films that star Jackie Chan, Samo Hung, Yuen Biao, Cynthia Luster, and Jet Li amongst the many Chinese superstars. Another instance was during the height of the Mexican telenovelas in the country in the early 1990s, Chinese series Meteor Garden starring F4 was such a big hit on television.

Comedy riot film "Deadma Walking" is coming


Filming has begun on Deadma Walking which won the 2nd Prize in the Screenplay division of the 2016 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, the most prestigious and longest-running literary writing competition in the Philippines.

The story revolves around gay BFFs (best friends for life) John and Mark whose friendship is put to the test when one of them has a terminal illness and asks the other to help him stage his fake death, wake, and funeral as his dying wish. The result is a comedy of "deadly" proportions.

MMFF 2016 entry, SAVING SALLY, gets A rating from Cinema Evaluation Board


The Metro Manila Film Festival Screening Committee describes one of the eight entries in this year’s December film festival, Saving Sally, as “an atypical youthful love story replete with child-like elements as applied through 2D animation.”

The Cinema Evaluation Board gave an A rating to the directorial debut of Avid Liongoren, a motion picture that weaves a young romantic story set in wonderful 2D animation hues.

The Odd Couple (Season 3) & Man With A Plan (new show) on RTL CBS Entertainment


Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, who famously played roommates Joey Tribbiani and Chandler Bing, respectively, on Friends, will have a reunion of sorts when their shows start airing on their new home, RTL CBS Entertainment.

The Odd Couple, starring Matthew Perry, will have the premiere of its third season on October 21, 2016. Matt LeBlanc’s new show Man With A Plan is set to premiere on October 28, 2016.

My Big Bossing - MMFF 2014 Official Entry


My Big Bossing, Vic Sotto’s entry to the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is expected to create another blockbuster film franchise as the movie brings with it an all-star cast ensemble, three high-calibre directors and excellent production and visual spectacle to complete a trilogy of stories in one neat package of a movie this year.

The film will be shown starting December 25, 2014 (Christmas Day) in all major theaters nationwide.

Direk Jun Lana's new romance-comedy film, SO IT'S YOU, premieres on May 7, 2014


Director Jun Lana's newest film is a romance-comedy entitled, So It's You (2014), under Regal Films. It stars Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, who both have worked together in GMA's 2013 primetime hit and popular TV series, My Husband's Lover. Joining them is JC De Vera.

#Labyu, a new gay romantic comedy


#Labyu (2014) is a new gay romantic comedy film written and directed by Jill Singson Urdaneta and produced by Dennis Sebastian of Spin Entertainment Production, in association with Sunflower Films International.

#Labyu is the film debut of Urdaneta as a writer-director. It stars Miko Pasamonte (The Escort, Kape Barako, Kumpare) and Albert Goza, who appeared in a film for the first time.

The cast also includes Renee Gozon, Jobben Bello, G.A. Villafuerte, Gelo Arucan, John Galvez, LK King and JB Sinday. The film soundtrack features the music of Jeff Cifra, Kian Dionisio, Jerome and Sebastian Castro.
