Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan is world's largest domed theater

The Philippine Arena is the newest coliseum in the Philippines to set a world record as the biggest of its kind in the world, far bigger than the stadium of Brazil where the current FIFA World Cup 2014 is being held. It is an indoor arena being constructed in Bocaue, Bulacan within the Ciudad de Victoria project of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), a religious organization. It is expected to have a seating capacity of 55,000, which is 25,000 more than the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and will open very soon this year.

Layeta Bucoy’s Kleptomaniacs opens Tanghalang Pilipino's 28th Theater Season that promises to be the first-ever rap musical on Philippine stage. Kleptomaniacs runs from July 11 2014 until July 27 2014 at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The rap musical is directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, composition and arrangement by Jose Carlo L. Frio and Nina Virgin, musical direction and co-arrangement by Jed Caballero Balsamo, choreography by Nestee Mamaril Gamilla, costume design by James Reyes, and lighting design by John Batalla.

Singapore Airlines celebrates Philippine Independence Day at NAIA Terminal 1

Singapore Airlines, one of the world's trusted airline, celebrated Philippine Independence Day at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on June 12, 2014 by singing Tagalog songs and performing Philippine native folk dances to guests, employees and departing passengers near the check-in counter.

This is the second time that Singapore Airlines celebrated Filipino's freedom day at the said airport.

"The World Is Ours" is the official anthem song of 2014 FIFA World Cup that kicked off on June 12. The theme is about celebrating the exciting sports game and how it unifies the countries and cultures across the globe.

The song is also known as "Todo Mundo" (Brazil) or "La Copa De Todos" (Latin America).

Former X-Factor star David Correy, a Brazilian-American singer, is the voice behind the song. Watch the video below.

PETA’s Rak of Aegis is back for its second run | June 20-August 31, 2014

Rak of Aegis, the Philippine Educational Theater Association’s (PETA) comedy-musical featuring chart-topping Aegis hits returns to the PETA PHINMA Theater stage on June 20-August 31, 2014 (Thursday to Sunday). For its second run, the musical is scheduled to have 67 performances.

Last January, the PETA original production broke box office records. From an initial line-up of 36 shows, Rak of Aegis ended its first run with seven more sold out performances. The musical drew in crowds of theatergoers, including secret Aegis fanatics and theater virgins, who were wowed, touched and exhilarated by the show’s riveting music and heartwarming performances. Rak of Aegis’ massive following proves that this timely tale of hope, resilience and original Filipino rock tugs at the hearts of Pinoy audiences like no other.

The Sandbox Collective's "Dani Girl" at RCBC Theater | July 11-27, 2014

For its launch production, Manila’s newest performing arts collective, The Sandbox Collective, will be mounting the groundbreaking Off-Broadway musical Dani Girl – an uplifting tale about a young girl’s battle with leukemia. Directed by Toff de Venecia, the show will run for 15 performances from July 11-27, 2014 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City. 

   SYNOPSIS   

Far from sitting back and letting her condition take over, nine year-old Dani Lyons, whose cancer has returned after three years of being in remission, sets off on an imaginary quest with her guardian angel Raph, her film-obsessed roommate Marty, and her teddy bear Mr. Fritz, to get back her hair after losing it to chemo, and find the answer to the question, “Why is cancer?”
