Virgin Labfest 15:Titibuk-Tibok at CCP | June 19, 2019 - July 7, 2019

Now on its 15th year, the annual festival of fresh one-act plays continues to attract theatergoers with remarkable works by emerging and established playwrights. Established in 2005, the Virgin Labfest aims to provide our playwrights a venue to present their unpublished, untried, untested and unstaged works to theater-going public. 

Virgin Labfest is a project of the Manila-based playwrights group Writer's Bloc, Inc., acclaimed theater company Tanghalang Pilipino, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Virgin Labfest 15 runs for 3 weeks and is composed of 12 new Featured Works, 3 ‘Revisited’ Plays (audiences’ favourites from last year’s festival), 10 Staged Readings, including the new component, “Once They Were Virgins,” and a showcase of works from the VLF Writing Fellowship Program. Other new components of the Festival include a reunion of playwrights, director and actors; a Playwright’s Fair; and a Library Exhibit.

Virgin Labfest 11 at CCP | June 24-July 12, 2015

THE Virgin Labfest, a festival of untried, untested, unpublished and unstaged plays will be held from June 24 to July 12, 2015 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Huseng Batute (Studio Theater) and the Bulwagang Amado Hernandez. The event is a joint venture of CCP, Tanghalang Pilipino and the Writers’ Bloc, Inc., in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

The Virgin Labfest YEAR 11 is now open for script submissions. The Virgin Labfest is an annual festival of unpublished, unstaged, untried and untested works for the theater held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This festival is a partnership project of the Writer’s Bloc, Inc., Tanghalang Pilipino, Inc. and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

This year, the Virgin Labfest will choose twelve (12) “virgin” one-act plays.The Virgin Labfest is open to submissions of the following written works:

Virgin Labfest 10 at CCP | June 25-July 6, 2014

The Virgin Labfest 10: The Harvest will be held from June 25 to July 6, 2014 at the Tanghalang Huseng Batute of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. It is an annual festival of untried, untested, unstaged and unpublished plays. The Labfest has 3pm and 8pm shows. It is a project of the CCP in cooperation with the Writer’s Bloc, Inc. and Tanghalang Pilipino in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and Arts.

Virgin LabFest 9: Call for Submissions (2013)

The Virgin Labfest YEAR 9 is now open for script submissions. The Virgin Labfest is an annual festival of unpublished, unstaged, untried and untested works for the theater held in the middle of the year (June to July) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This festival is a partnership project of the Writer's Bloc, Inc., Tanghalang Pilipino, Inc. and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

This year, the Virgin Labfest will choose nine (9) "virgin" one-act plays and one (1) full length play.

The Virgin Labfest is open to submissions of the following written works:

1.  One-act plays (maximum running time: 40 minutes)

2.  Full-length plays (minimum running time: 1 hour 20 minutes; maximum running time: 2 hours)

Virgin Labfest 8 at CCP (June 27-July 8, 2012)

THE Cultural Center of the Philippines announces the staging of the Virgin Labfest, a festival of new plays (untried, untested, unpublished and unstaged) by emerging and well-known playwrights to be held from June 27 to July 18, 2012 at the CCP Tanghalang Huseng Batute with 3pm and 8pm shows. Virgin Labfest is a project of the CCP in cooperation with the Writer’s Bloc, Inc. and Tanghalang Pilipino.

Now on its eighth year, the Virgin Labfest has earned a solid reputation for its exciting and provocative line-up of one-act plays from playwrights both young and old.  This year’s line-up includes plays for the One-Act Category:

Virgin Labfest 6: Isang Rebyu

Itinanghal ang ika-anim na taon ng Virgin Labfest ng Writer's Bloc at Tanghalang Pilipino noong Hunyo 22-Hulyo 4, 2010 sa Tanghalang Huseng Batute ng Cultural Center of the Philippines. Ito ang taunang pagdiriwang para sa teatro na nagtatanghal ng mga dulang di pa nasusubok, di pa naipalalabas at di pa rin nailalathala saan man. Samakatwid, ang Virgin Labfest ay binubuo ng mga dulang bagung-bago at sariwa sa lahat ng mambabasa at manonood na nagsimula pa noong taong 2005. Ang VLF6 ay may 5 set, na lahat ay binubuo ng 3 iisahing yugtong dula maliban sa Set-E na may dalawa lamang. Kung kaya't may 14 mga bagong dulang isinabak sa taong ito. Kasama rin dito ang "Set-F: Revisited" na binubuo ng 3 pinakamahuhusay na  dulang ipinalabas noong taong 2009. Subalit di ko na isinama ang Set-F sa rebyu na ito.
