14th Cinema One Originals Film Festival (2018) in 15 venues | October 12-21, 2018

Original. The word, and all its permutations, has been a significant part of the festival name for the last 13 years. Originality has always been the one thing Cinema One Originals has championed and pushed for.

“I Am Original” is the tagline of the 14th Cinema One Originals. It is both a declaration, by the filmmakers and the performers, and a promise, that this year’s films will not be merely awesome but rather flawsome, a word coined to exemplify this year’s festival. Originality is never about perfection. Perfection is boring. Originality is about freshness of voice, an unwavering sense of self and the uniqueness of being human, flawed but awesome.

Variously labeled a martyr, a lustful satyr, a madman, a genius and a lay about, the real Vincent is at once revealed in his letters, and obscured by myth and time. Van Gogh himself said in his last letters, “We cannot speak other than by our paintings”. We take him at his word and let the paintings tell the real story of a great visual artist.

PETA presents "The Tempest Reimagined," a Filipino adaptation of the Shakespeare classic | November 11-December 4, 2016

In partnership with The British Council and Japan Foundation, The Philippine Educational Theater Association presents an adaptation of the Shakespeare classic The Tempest.

The Tempest was written in the 1600’s, and thought by many critics to be the last play that Shakespeare wrote alone. It is set on a remote island, where the sorcerer Prospero, rightful Duke of Milan, plots to restore his daughter Miranda to her rightful place using illusion and skillful manipulation. He conjures up a storm, the eponymous tempest, to lure his usurping brother Antonio and the complicit King to the island. There, his machinations bring about the revelation of Antonio's lowly nature, and the marriage of Miranda to Alonso's son, Ferdinand.
