American Idol Season 11 - Top 7 Performances

Top 7 Week of the American Idol Season 11 was very tough. All contestants have shown an amazing performance in both individual and group/pair. If I were to judge, it's really difficult for me to rank them. Not only did all of them showcase their vocal prowess to the highest degree, but their choice of songs was unbelievably beautiful! I'm just in awe watching all of their performances with a big grin on my face and my heart bursting with so much joy.

Scene Stealers This Top 7 Week on American Idol 11: Some Observations

AMERICAN IDOL's FINAL 7: L-R: Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez, Skylar Laine, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet and Elise Testone

Of the recent vote-off episode of the American Idol (for Top 7 week), here are some of my observations:

(1) This is the only time that the judges have saved a contestant by strongly fighting for it and even going to the stage to call the attention of the American public - to "vote only for the best!"

(2) The other contestants were happy that Jessica Sanchez was saved and is back in the competition.

(3) When Jessica was singing her "save" song, I noticed the positive aura of Phillip Phillips and Colton Dixon - that they are also proud of Jessica getting back in the roster. Really cool and humble guys! Great singers as well!

American Idol Season 11 - Top 9 Performances

Here are the Top 9 Performances of American Idol Season 11. The number before each performer's name is the order of my ranking them based on their total performance. My personal rating you can find below each video.

Jessica Sanchez singing "Sweet Dreams" is undeniably the best performance in this lot! She made the song into a ballad which is deliciously good! I love DeAndre Brackensick's style with his powerful falceto singing "Sometimes I Cry" making it in my Top 2. On my 3rd spot is Colton Dixon's rendition of a worship song entitled "Everything." I felt his love and passion for God. It's deep within him. I was moved by his performance. Joshua Ledet's "Without You," is my 4th favorite. He gave the song a different approach - with a little of his "screaming" technique.

1.  Jessica Sanchez - Sweet Dreams  (Top 9)
Rating: 5/5
