"Ribbons of Love: Cancer Run" at Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex / February 11, 2024

The Philippine College of Surgeons Cancer Commission (PCS CanCom) is a leading multisectoral, multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder organization actively influencing the advancement of quality cancer care and setting the highest standards for better health outcomes in the Philippines through highly specialized capacity building and development, dynamic and groundbreaking collaborations and popularization of relevant scientific researches. 

The PCS CanCom organized a fund-raising fun run called “Ribbons of Love: Cancer Run” happening on February 11, 2024 (Sunday), 4:00-9:00 am at the CCP Complex, Pasay City. 




There will be 5 categories: 200M (up to 10 years old), 3KM, 5KM, 10KM and 16KM. Runners can run with their pets for an additional cost.  

The “Ribbons of Love: Cancer Run is envisioned to be attended by cancer survivors, their family and friends, healthcare providers, cancer advocates, industry partners and supporters, health enthusiasts and those who just want to have a good time with family and friends. Included in the event are a cancer screening examination for 100 participants for breast, thyroid, cervical and prostate cancer and distribution of educational materials for the screening, diagnosis and management of the different types of cancers. 

The objectives of this project include:

1.  To celebrate the gift of life for cancer survivors, their family and friends, healthcare providers, industry partners and health enthusiasts.

2.  To raise awareness on the screening, diagnosis and management of different types of cancers.

3.  To encourage Filipinos to undergo screening for the different types of cancers.

4.  To raise funds to sponsor: 

a. Further collaboration among patient survivors, patient advocates, health care providers, governmental and non-governmental institutions and industry partners.

b. Educational materials. 

c.  Further research on the improvement of health outcomes in cancer care.

d. The upcoming National Cancer Summit, a 2-day summit to provide opportunity and collaboration to share knowledge, expertise, experiences, research, best practices for promoting and advancing integrated multidisciplinary, patient focused, quality cancer care and management.
