Tricentenary of Saint John Baptist de La Salle's Death
The Year 2019 marks the tricentenary of the death of Saint John Baptist De La Salle. The De La Salle institution received permission from the Pope to establish a jubilee year dedicated to Saint John Baptist de La Salle.

The Lasallian Jubilee Year began on November 17, 2018. On this same day in 1951, the year of the three-hundredth anniversary of the Founder’s birth, the chapel of the Generalate, was dedicated to him.

The opening of the Jubilee Year started with a celebration of the Holy Mass that began with the reading of the Bull of Indiction of the Jubilee Year and will close with the Plenary Indulgence later this year.

After three hundred years and following the footsteps of John Baptist De La Salle, the great De La Salle family is made up of about 4,000 Brothers, who, together with 92,000 teachers, educators and numerous lay collaborators, assist – in about 1,200 educational centers in 80 countries around the world – 1,380,000 pupils, children, young people and adults.

To this today, after three hundred years and in the footsteps of John Baptist De La Salle, the Brothers, present in eighty countries, are committed to spreading the Gospel and culture among young people. #300Lasalle #LasallianJubileeYear #Lasalle300
