Pasinaya Arts Festival 2013: Photography Contest Mechanics


CCP PASINAYA, which takes place on February 3, 2013, is an annual Arts Festival that attracts thousands of visitors in one day to enter the Main Theater Building and immerse in various art programs – theater, dance, music, film, literature, and the visual arts – and other cultural activities.  With a camera or camera-phone on hand, most visitors make this annual event as a rare opportunity to take photographs of themselves, of the CCP Building (inside and outside) and peripheral areas, the performances and exhibitions.

CCP holds a photography contest on the day itself. The photos should be taken within the day at the various event venues in CCP only.

WHO can JOIN?
  • The competition is open to all ages.  Submission of participants below 18 years old must be done under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
  • The contest is open to Filipino citizens and Philippine residents.
  • Employees and relatives of CCP employees up to the third degree of affinity or consanguinity are disqualified from joining the competition.
  • Professional photographers who have exclusive contracts with specific publications or daily newspapers are not allowed to join due to provisions no. 4 and 6 below (ENTRIES, Selection of WINNERS, and other provisions).  

CATEGORIES:
Entries will be classified under the following categories: 
1. Tsinoy icons in Pasinaya 2013
2. Pasinaya Art/Artists in motion
3. Inside the CCP
4. Audiences at the CCP
5. My Day in Pasinaya

ENTRIES, Selection of WINNERS, and other provisions:
1. Each participant is allowed to submit a MAXIMUM OF FOUR ENTRIES TOTAL, and may be distributed to a MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) ENTRIES FOR A CHOSEN CATEGORY.
2. Entries must be in full color, at least 300 dpi, in JPEG or JPG format, A4 size or 11.5 inches maximum side.
3. Three (3) winning entries will be selected for each category (no specific ranking).
4. CCP shall have the intellectual property rights and exclusive use over the 15 winning photos for a period of 2 years. During this period, only CCP shall have the sole right to use, produce or reproduce, make imitative works of the photos for its various communication materials and for whatever purpose it may deem fit without further compensation to the artist, his/her heirs, and assignees.
5. By submitting their entries to the PASINAYA Photography Competition, all contest participants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless CCP and its employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this Contest.
6. All participants agree to allow the CCP to use non-winning entries in any of its promotional and marketing platforms.
7. CCP has the right to verify the validity and originality of any submitted photo entry and/or contest participant (including the contestant’s identity and address). CCP also reserves the right to disqualify any contest participant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with the contest’s Official Rules or who tampers/violates with the entry process.
8. By joining this competition, the contest participants agree that their personal data may be used by CCP for purposes of announcing to the general public updates on the outcome of the regional screening and grand finals, as well as for other promotional, marketing, and communication materials of the corporation.
9. Whenever entries appear in published format, the participants’ names will be duly acknowledged as author.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES:
1. Participants shall register and submit entries at the submission booth located at the LITTLE THEATER LOBBY near the INFORMATION BOOTH.
2. Each participant is required to accomplish an entry form and he/she will be assigned a corresponding number to identify all entries submitted. 
     *  E.g., Juan de la Cruz is participant number 1 and he submitted 4 entries.  Each entry will be                    labeled as 1.a, 1.b, 1.c, and 1.d
3. Submissions must be taken on the actual day of the Pasinaya 2013.
4. The participant must decide on which images to submit before approaching the submission booth. 5. CCP employees and volunteers are not allowed to assist in selecting photos to be submitted.
6. Submissions must be in digital format, at least 300 dpi, in JPEG or JPG format.
7. Photographs to be submitted should have no watermark. There should be no identifying mark on the images to eliminate any bias during the screening and judging of the submitted photos.
8. The following photographs or images are disqualified:
▪ Photographs bearing images of public officials.
▪ Photographs that are digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered for creative purposes, e.g, the use of applications such as instagram. Altered images refer to photographs manipulated and applied with special effects (colorizing, toning, collage, photo composites, stitched panoramas, high dynamic range or HDR images, etc.). Only minor adjustments in the color, sharpness, contrast or digital equivalents are acceptable.
▪ Photographs that violate a person’s rights including, but not limited to copyright and privacy.
▪ Photographs that contain obscene, sexually explicit, offensive or any other objectionable or inappropriate content.

SCHEDULE OF SUBMISSION, SELECTION AND PRIZES:
1. Entries will be accepted from 10 am to 3 pm only, on a first come first served basis.
2. Judging will take place between 3 to 5 pm. 
3. Winners will be announced during the Gala program at the end of the day.
4. Winners will receive prizes in kind.
5. Winning entries will be posted in the CCP website immediately after the event.
