A Filipina clinched the "2011 Ford Supermodel of the World" title. Danica Flores Magpantay was declared the winner in the prestigious annual modeling competition in the world which was held in New York on January 22, 2011, Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Magpantay received a US$250,000 modeling contract from Ford Modeling Agency in New York. She won over 50 aspiring models from other countries across the globe. Lithuania won as first runner-up ($150,000 modeling contract), while Poland won as second runner-up ($100,000 contract). Brazil and Estonia were finalists.

Only 17 years old, Danica is the daughter of Milagros "Lala" Flores who also joined the international modeling competition in 1990. Lala won the Crest Best Smile Award. The mother was ecstatic when Danica called her on the phone to share her victory. She saw that her daughter was very serious at modeling. Danica is the first Filipina to win in the competition.
Danica bagged the Ford Supermodel of the World-Philippines on October 31, 2010. Danica stands 5'9" and weighs 109 lbs.

1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez was the first Filipina who joined in the Face of the 80s in 1986 and won as first runner-up to Monica Schnarre of Canada.
