ASEAN Youth Camp 2010 now opens for application


ASEAN Youth Camp will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam on April 23–29, 2010. The camp, which is sponsored by the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (COCI) with Vietnam as coordinating country, carries the theme “Dragon: Legend in ASEAN Culture”. It aims to promote among youth representatives of the ASEAN member countries’ knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of each other’s culture through interactive activities, and to build friendship among them. 

The Philippines, through the NCCA, will be sending a 5-member Philippine delegation which will consist of a traditional musician, dancer, craftsman in pottery, visual artist and photojournalist.

In view of this, the NCCA is encouraging direct applications from practitioners (traditional musician, dancer, craftsman in pottery, visual artist and photojournalist) who meet the following requirements:
1. Must be a Filipino citizen
2. Must be a mature and responsible youth between 16-25 years old 
3. Must have an understanding and appreciation of Philippine culture and the arts
4. Must have good human relations
5. Must have a good command of the English language 

Please note that previous ASEAN Youth Camp participants need not apply. We will appreciate receiving your nominations on or before March 9, 2010. Your nominations should include the following documents:
1. Curriculum Vitae
2. Transcript of Records and/or True Copy of Grades (photocopy only)
3. Certificate of Employment (if applicable)
4. 1 pc 2”x2” photo
5. Recommendation letter
6. Application letter

All nominations should undergo a screening process to be conducted by the NCCA.
