Grand Chapiteu, venue of Cirque du Soleil's "Varekai"


The biggest circus act in town - the spectacular Varekai, to be performed by the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil is still showing until July 24, 2011.

The blue and yellow Grand Chapiteau (the venue for the show) was raised in front of the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.


The raising of the Grand Chapiteau was witnessed led by: (L-R) Manila Hotel’s AVP for PR and Corporate Communications Nian Rigor; NPDC Dir. Juliet Villegas;  Hoopla’s Chairman Vicente Cheng; Canadian Ambassador Christopher Thornely; Varekai’s Company Manager Robert Mckenzie; Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim;  Manila Hotel’s Exec. Vice-President  Enrique Y. Yap, Jr.; BDO’s Senior Vice-President for Branch Banking Group Gerry Diaz; Sun Life Financial Communications Chief Operating Officer Naresh Krishnan.
