Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences: The fine art of living

The landscape of traveling is changing and evolving. Over the years, traditional hotels have taken a backseat to boutique hotels or designer residences. Business travelers and vacationers these days are not simply looking for a place to stay, but also for unique experiences that balance the comforts of home with innovations in hospitality.

In response to this growing trend, Ardent Property Development Corporation had a vision to use a hip and modern concept to transform an old apartment building into the residence of choice for the contemporary traveler called The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences. I was very fortunate to witness the amazing artsy interior and amenities this building has to offer. The Picasso was reintroduced to the public on April 27, 2010 with friends and media attending the event hosted by Benjo Marquez.

I was surprised to know that the owner and President of The Picasso is Mr. Luis Monserrat, the father of my former student, Amanda, in S.Y. 1998-99 in a school in Alabang.

The designer serviced residences took inspiration from the artistic genius and great visual master, Pablo Picasso, one of the abstract artists I truly admire. While Picasso transformed the way we looked at the world, The Picasso is transforming the look and feel of serviced residences. The Picasso offers guests the ambiance of a five-star hotel with friendly and personalized service that makes one feel right at home, while offering beautiful and stylish interiors that awaken the senses.

Delightful canvas of lines, stunning patterns, and eclectic palettes are seen all over the property. The studios and one-bedrooms are very luxurious in terms of space at 45 and 88 square meters respectively, complementing the extended windows from floor to ceiling and wall to wall with a large balcony to boot, making it ideal for both short and long-term stays.

The Picasso’s art theme reaches its full expression in The Picasso’s Art Program.  Positioned to be not just another property with art but as an engine for art, the lobby and common areas exhibit works by modern and avant-garde Filipino artists.  There is also a dedicated art gallery space on the third floor that host’s openings, workshops and art talks. All the works in the building are appointed by Art Cabinet Philippines as an in-house curator and changed every two months. The Picasso supports the art community by having all the works for sale.

In addition to stylish exteriors, luxurious designs, and dedication to art, The Picasso offers guests all the amenities they need to ensure a relaxing whilst exciting stay by providing plasma televisions, room service, housekeeping, personalized concierge services, and more. This fine art of living is managed professionally by Hospitality International Incorporated (HII).

Also found in the serviced residence is the Qi Wellness Spa which specializes in treatments that relax the body and mind; Studio 119 which offers hair-pampering at its finest; a function room which is complete with equipment, such as projector, flip charts, and sound system; a two-floor gym that showcases a breathtaking view of the city; and a wi-fi lounge which is open 24 hours to guests.

And that is not all, The Picasso also has a delicious treat for every diverse palate. The Brasserie Boheme, by Cebu’s favorite The Gustavian, captivates taste buds with their eclectic menu and even turns into a bar at night for those looking for a cocktail to cap off their evening.

The Picasso has it all, and is conveniently located at the heart of Salcedo Village, the center of the Makati Business District. It is the perfect venue to relax or stimulate senses and awaken curiosities. The boutique serviced residence is sure to provide guests with an unforgettable stay while inviting them to enjoy the beauty of the city and the promise of rediscovery with each visit.  With its special introductory rates, The Picasso is surprisingly affordable considering the quality of the rooms, service and its ideal location.
