Haagen-Dazs Opens at Robinson’s Place Manila

Häagen-Dazs makes indulging in ultimate ice cream luxury more convenient with another branch at the center of the tourism and business district of Manila located at the ground floor of the Midtown Wing of Robinsons Place in Ermita. Following the global design philosophy developed in the United Kingdom, the new outlet boasts of furniture, freezers and dipping cabinets designed in Italy, with the brand elements further enhanced by a backlit timber panel.

The shop is a must-visit for ice cream that boasts of richness, sensual textures, and remarkable flavors. An excellent companion for do-not-disturb moments - while celebrating victories or inviting inspiration - Häagen-Dazs makes every experience exceptional, transcending taste and building intimacy and connection.

I was very fortunate to have attended the opening of the new Häagen-Dazs branch on November 5, 2009 through the invitation of Rowena Lei and was able to taste the luscious ice cream for the very first time. Now I understand why people are hooked to this ice cream brand because of its very delicious taste and the sweetness is just right for our taste buds to relish.

On opening day, a unique three-act show awaited the special guests at Robinsons Place. The play, headlined by three different women living in the same building, gave the audience a glimpse at how three ladies at different stages of their lives, are absorbed with their "Me Time." Searching for what is real and what tugs at their heartstrings, they immersed themselves in what makes them feel best.  Savouring and relishing it all, with a tub of slow-melting Häagen-Dazs for company.

The short performance was also witnessed by United States Ambassador to the Philippines Hon. Kirstie Kenney and Robinsons Land Corporation Business Unit General Manager Mr. Cornelio Mapa, who did the ribbon cutting and ceremonial ice cream scooping with Häagen-Dazs -Philippines General Manager Ms. Tess Panganiban.

The guests did not leave the premises without giving in to the temptation and getting a taste of the dense and creamy treat, made from 100% pure dairy cream and milk blended with just a minimum amount of air, Häagen-Dazs is truly one of life’s greatest affordable luxuries.

Part of the limited engagement only Christmas menu is the rich Chocolate Temptation, with pretzel sticks on top of two butter cookies, layered with scoops of Dark Chocolate Orange, Midnight Cookies and Cream, Belgian Chocolate, Cappuccino Truffle and Tiramisu, garnished with almond bits and cherries.  Another creation which embodies the ultimate chocolate experience is the Chocolate Christmas Spire which consists of a scoop of Belgian Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Orange ice cream, served on top of a layer of Cookies and Cream ice cream and warm Brownie cake. Those who wish to immerse themselves in the Italian Christmas spirit can order the Italian Christmas Sparkle made up of Creamy Tiramisu and rich Cappuccino Caramel Truffle on a drizzle of pure chocolate fudge sauce with a special bruffin, whipped cream, and crushed amoretti biscuit.  As a drink, it translates to another treat called the Italian Christmas Latte, a special Christmas blend of creamy Tiramisu and intense Cappuccino Truffle with fresh milk and a shot of espresso. All topped with a snow-covered peak of whipped cream and crushed amaretto biscuit.
